    Политический деятель, юрист. В 1891-93 член Палаты представителей [ House of Representatives] от штата Джорджия, куда был выдвинут Фермерским союзом [ Farmers' Alliances]. Один из лидеров Популистской партии [ Populist Party], в 1896 был выдвинут ее кандидатом на пост вице-президента, а в 1904 - кандидатом на пост президента, но не получил на выборах необходимого числа голосов. С 1908 активно поддерживал Ку-клукс-клан [ Ku Klux Klan], выступая против католиков, евреев, негров и социалистов. В 1921-22 сенатор от Демократической партии [ Democratic Party]

    Первая женщина-сенатор, писательница, оратор. В 1852 с отличием окончила Мэдисонский женский колледж [Madison Female College] в г. Мэдисоне, шт. Джорджия. Помогала своему мужу, врачу У. Фелтону [Felton, William H.] в его политической карьере (он стал членом Палаты представителей [ House of Representatives] Конгресса США, позднее членом законодательного собрания штата). Супруги Фелтоны активно боролись за реформу пенитенциарной системы и избирательное право для женщин. В то же время выступала с антисемитских и расистских позиций, за сохранение детского труда и линчевания [ lynching], излагая свои взгляды в колонке газеты "Атланта джорнэл" [Atlanta Journal]. Участвовала в нескольких международных выставках, проходивших в США, в том числе во Всемирной выставке в Чикаго [ World's Columbian Exposition] и Выставке, посвященной Луизианской покупке [ Louisiana Purchase Exposition]. В 1922 губернатор Джорджии Т. Хардвик [Hardwick, Thomas W.] символическим жестом назначил Фелтон членом Сената США [ Senate, U.S.] вместо скончавшегося сенатора Т. Уотсона [ Watson, Thomas Edward], которого она горячо поддерживала в борьбе с президентом В. Вильсоном [ Wilson, (Thomas) Woodrow]. Фактически Фелтон занимала кресло сенатора в течение двух дней (21-22 ноября), после чего ее сменил избранный сенатором У. Джордж [George, Walter F.]. Автор книг "Мои воспоминания о политической жизни Джорджии" ["My Memoirs of Georgia Politics"] (1911), "Деревенская жизнь в Джорджии в дни моей молодости" ["Country Life in Georgia in the Days of My Youth"] (1919), "Романтическая история женщин Джорджии" ["The Romantic Story of Georgia Women"] (1930) и др.
